Our Partners

The South Central New York Agriculture Program works in collaboration with other agencies that support local farms. Our partners include:

Cornell Small Farms Program and the Northeast Beginning Farmers Project
Resources include planning and production tutorials, the Guide to Farming in NY, videos full of practical farmer-to-farmer advice and online courses for aspiring, new and experienced farmers.

Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCD)
The districts provide technical assistance relative to natural resource conservation and water quality issues to individual landowners, groups and local governments. Assistance includes Ag Environmental Management planning, nutrient management planning, Best Management Practices implementation, Clean Sweeps pesticide clean up, agricultural assessments, CAFO/CNMP planning assistance, tree program for reforestation, no-till drill rental, administration of State Ag Non-Point Source Grants and technical assistance with USDA Farm Bill programs.

Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
NRCS provides leadership in a partnership effort to help people conserve, maintain and improve natural resources and the environment. Funding for conservation programs (EQIP, CRP, etc.) flows through NRCS.

Farm Service Agency (FSA)
FSA implements agricultural policy, administers credit and loan programs, and manages conservation, commodity, disaster and farm marketing programs.
