Announcement: NYSEG Rate Hike Proposal Hearings Dates
On May 26, 2022, NYSEG and RG&E requested that the NYS Public Service Commission approve proposed changes to annual electric and natural gas delivery rates and practices to be effective May 1, 2023. NYSEG is proposing to increase its electric base delivery revenue by 31% and its gas base delivery revenue by 19%. The delivery charge is regulated by the NYS Public Service Commission and covers the cost to transport electricity or gas to customers through the utility’s delivery system. The actual bill impacts from these proposals on each customer class will vary based upon revenue allocation and rate design.
To ensure full public participation, the Public Service Commission is holding a series of virtual public statement hearings on September 15, September 28, and October 18, 2022, to solicit input and comments from the public regarding the proposals. Information about the filing can be found at www.dps.ny.gov.
