DESCRIPTION:*ANNOUNCEMENT*"Notice is hereby given that the 30-day open enrollment period and 8-year review period for inclusion into or removal from Chemung County’s Agricultural District will be from November 1st until November 30th of 2025. Inclusion into the district protects farm operations from unreasonably restrictive local regulation and requires additional review for the condemnation or eminent domain acquisition of district parcels. Removal from the district is only optional during the 8-year review period pursuant to Section 303-A. Review for inclusion or removal is conducted by the Chemung County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board to assess a parcel’s potential to support future viable farm operations. To apply for Agriculture District inclusion, fill out form RA 113, or to request removal, contact Chemung County Planning at planning@chemungcountyny.gov, 607-737-5510, 150 Lake Street, Elmira NY, 14901
