Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP)

WHEP empowers youth (ages 12 to 18) to become stewards of the natural world, teaching them to assess the health and sustainability of diverse ecosystems while developing problem-solving abilities applicable to a wide range of environmental challenges. Club activities promote youth development and environmental literacy through fish and wildlife observation and identification activities, public presentation of skills, and application acquired knowledge.

Brooke Meets A Stream Doctor

By Jennifer Fetter

Of all the natural resources, water is arguably one of the most important – do you know how healthy your watershed is and what can you do to improve it? This education program, based on the book “Brooke Meets a Stream Doctor” promotes youth (ages 8 to 14) environmental literacy through experiential learning and watershed stewardship.

Junior Master Watershed Stewards

This next level youth (ages 15-18) certification program builds on the Brooke Meets a Stream Doctor Program, to further promote watershed conservation and stewardship. This course empowers interested students through professional development, career exploration and experiential learning while providing applicable students an opportunity to earn the title “Junior Master Watershed Steward.”

Hunting Skills and Shooting Sports

Our program is designed to create a supportive environment and foster appropriate youth/adult partnerships where youth can develop critical life skills and thrive. We incorporate STEM activities to enable youth to discover the “why and “how” related to 4-H Shooting Sports mechanics, enhancing their educational experience. Youth recognize personal growth through active civic engagement – which leads to giving back to their communities. While we encourage youth to gain proficiency (To Make the Best Better), there is a more important concept that we all model. Our focus is not on making champion shooters, but on developing champion kids.

Watershed Conservation and Habitat Management Education

Bring youth outdoors or the outdoors into your classrooms with interactive STEM and Environmental Science. Programs are geared primarily toward middle and high school youth, but please reach out to see how our programs might meet your age range needs.
